Episode 93 is the third and final episode dedicated to reading an account of the 1857 Revivals as taken from the article “Prayer Revivals and the Third Great Awakening” published in the Evangelical Review of Theology in January 2007.
The role which 1850’s technology played in the spread of the revival was very important. The telegraph and the steamship allowed the news of the revival to spread across a country and across oceans.

91 is Part 1 of a serialization of an article from the Evangelical Review of Theology entitled “Prayer Revivals and the Third Great Awakening.” The article centers on the history of a massive revival which swept the English-speaking world starting in North America in 1857.
In Episode 21, we will be looking at the book The Power of Prayer by Samuel Prime. The book is an account of the revival which swept the United States starting in the Fall of 1857. The picture is of Jeremiah Lanphier, who was instrumental in the Fulton Street Revival in New York City.
